Why choose The Kim Frost School of Dance?

The Kim Frost School of Dance has been established for 27 years. The school motto is ‘Fun with Excellence’ as we offer high quality training by qualified professional teachers, whilst still keeping our classes enjoyable. We are an organised, friendly school that’s has something to offer for everyone- whether it is a once a week class for fun and recreation you are looking for or for students that want to take their training to a higher level and potentially pursue a career in Dance. We offer comprehensive training to Advanced level in many genres with the opportunity to be part of our performance team performing at venues such as Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, Birmingham Hippodrome, Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Alton Towers as well as local Pantomimes and performances. We have a competition squad that compete in local competitions and at UK Dance Class Championships. Students can also study for OFQUAL regulated RAD and ISTD examinations in tap, ballet and Modern Dance. Our track record for exams is 100% pass rate with all students consistently achieving the top two grades of Distinction and Merit.

Dance is the ideal way for people of all ages to express themselves, relieve tension and improve flexibility and it is a great way to have fun, get fit and make friends.

We believe our dance school plays an important role in education and development and we provide a friendly and caring environment where each child can maximise their potential and grow in confidence. Our classes are good for posture, health and fitness and are in line with the key stages in schools.

Our emphasis is on education and fun and students take part in our spectacular shows at professional theatres and also have access to other performance opportunities in the local area.

Our studios are top class with sprung floors, mirrors and a private free car park for our customers.

All our teachers are fully qualified and have trained at full-time professional dance colleges and have experience in the professional dance industry.

We are an organised school with a structured and progressive timetable and clearly defined class age groups.

We are the only school in the area to offer optional exams that are accredited and recognised by Ofqual (the regulating board for qualifications in England), higher level exams qualify as UCAS points for University or higher education institutions

Kim Frost - Principal
Miss Kim trained at The Northern Ballet School in Manchester. She enjoyed a career as a professional dancer working on Cruise Ships and in Theatres worldwide. She is a registered and qualified ISTD and RAD teacher with 28 years of teaching experience. Kim has her ISTD Licentiate qualification and is a CPD Tutor for the RAD.
Hannah Jones - Festival Coodinator
Miss Hannah trained at Cambridge Performing Arts and with London Contemporary Dance at 'The Place'. She performed professionally in the UK and Europe with the Bodywork Dance Company and for The London College of Fashion. She is a registered and qualified teacher of the RAD and the ISTD and also holds her teaching qualification in Pilates.
Amy Hindmarsh
Miss Amy trained at Kim Frost School of Dance from a young age, completing her Advanced level exams with Distinctions. She then studied at Ellite Studios to complete her ISTD DDE teaching exams and after many years of assisting with classes at the school we are delighted to welcome her to our teaching faculty.
Amy has recently completed her ISTD Licentiate qualification.
Joanna Mitchel
Miss Joanna is a qualified and experienced Acrobatic Arts and Dance Teacher. She has taught in Dance Schools, Primary Schools and theatre groups for many years. Miss Joanna teaches the Wednesday night Acrobatic Arts classes - working on gymnastics and Acro skills, body conditioning and stretching. She is delighted to share her enthusiasm and passion with our students.

Lucy Jo Munroe - Commercial
Miss Lucy trained at 'Addict Dance Academy' achieving a BA Hons in Dance. She has a level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in education and currently teaches at school and colleges in York and Leeds. Lucy is also a qualified Zumba instructor. She has performed professionally at Disneyland Paris and Disneyland Shanghai and has worked in music videos and in modelling shows.
